Laptop software help

My laptop software which was windows XP got corrupted so now I can't use it, I need something that can fix it, can someone help me?

Uh, what do you mean?

You could just reinstall it... Most laptops today have a recovery partition.

I don't have the recovery thing, and it's a dell.
