I posted this over @ my site, i feel like I should post it here


Just read this....sorry for delayed response..
I think we need to get in contact with havoc, we all know they'll turn off the site anyway, we need his opinion.

I'll be more than happy to host havoc's here,free of charge,for as long
as you guys want, so long as there is not any illegal stuff posted
publicly, I can't risk our site getting shutdown just because of
yours...Also, for my own security reasons I must ask that I be given
admin access on the new forum, I won't be admin to "govern" the site,
but more to just keep an eye on it. I'm a really lenient host, just ask
Kagutsuchi, I host his blog and I don't think I have ever limited what
he wanted to do.

In the meantime, I'd advise all the members to migrate here..I know
this sounds like selfishness, but fact is, a lot of havoc's "real"
members already have accounts with us, not to mention that there's
already a system set up here...

Again, I'm more than happy to help out, as I do feel attached to havoc
forum & its members, but I really think we need to talk to havoc
about this....


BTW....your options as far as what to do....
It's literally impossible to transfer a DB from forumotion...Trust me,
I tried, I even offered to pay for it. Forumotion does not allow it
under any condition.
Which means the only way to get it would be to actually hack into forumotion...thats a little extreme..
If you host thru me, Ill be happy to permanently host the site, Havoc
would have full access to everything that pertains to his site,
including ftp/ DB access
I'll also be more than happy to host for a short period of time, if
thats the direction he wants to go, and will have no qualms about
helping him transfer...

i voted wrong, i said to delete VIP but since the site is gonna get shut down, its gonna get deleted anyways

well all havoc can do is give his opinion, which is alrite..

But basically, the site will get shut down even if we delete all illegal stuff, coz forumotion dont have the time/energy to go thru the whole site, so will delete it anyway.

So what i think we should do is relocate to MF's hosting temporarily, build up the forum again, then copy the DB etc. when we have our own hosting.

I am more than happy to donate money towards hosting, coz its not exactly expensive lol.

But we still need to know what havoc thinks

Yeah,but theres something you have to remember............
Havoc has ownership of this site,
And as a site owner myself, I'd be seriously pissed off if somebody did that with my site without consulting me.
Havoc may have a different opinion that any of us, and as the site owner, we have to respect thst.

Plus I have to ask him what type of forum system he wants installed....I'm not setting everything up, just to switch when he comes back

Luckily, I should be off work when he comes back...
And I'm gonna put a temporary forum up for now, so if it gets shut down, you can just tell everyone to go there..
