choice on a new computer...

ok so im going to be working all summer and getting a new computer, i was wondering which you guy's like the best...
i cant get an hp for the fact that ive had bad luck with them.
i want to get an alienware but i talked to this guy who is a gomputer wiz and he is hesitent towards one...so which in your personal opinion is the best?
dell, mac/apple, alienware, compaq, and any others i forgot.
oh and i am going to use it for,
programming, gaming, video editing, and movies.

in my opinion just a plain DELL with XP edition

alienware is too complicated

MAC is also a good choice --very good quality grphx purfect
for artists

all other computers can suck my balls

I'd prefer a Vaio with Vista or XP! Maybe a Mac, but with those things you can't download torrents
or anything like that cause of the unbelievable security they have installed on them...

i have the dell inspiron 530 with xp its good but loading times r slow on start up
