Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance

Ok so i have a really annoying and common problem for most Vista(dear god) users... Metal Gear 2 for PC platform won't work !!!! it's a pretty old problem, but i can't find a solution, and everything i tried just hasn't worked for me... Anyone feel like lending a helping hand???

Have you tried Compatibility Mode? http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-compatibility-mode/

Yeah i've tried everything i can think of. Even googled it, but no luck... the only lead i have is that it may not support my sound card.
